My Little Pony Anatomy by Crazyclur My Little Pony Anatomy by Crazyclur
A few years ago I saw the work of Michael Paulus online [link] who drew what the skeletons of cartoon characters would look like (horribly deformed, unsurprisingly). I was customizing a My Little Pony at one point and wondered what its anatomy would be like. I found the skeleton and muscle structure of a normal horse, [link] and [link]
and modified it to fit a pony. They're drawn and painted onto sheets of acetate (clear plastic sheets), so you can see the skeleton through the musculature.

So... there you go. That was almost educational (almost).

You should do the organs too.

There are lots of layers I could do if I let myself get carried away (a downside of studying Biology I guess). I'd say a My Little Pony brain would a lot smaller than a real horse's for a start :P

Oh yeah, their brain would definatly be smaller and you wouldn't need an MRI to find that out. Wind Wistler may have a bigger brain but she's the minority.

You could probably point out every mistake ;) I'm studying Biology, so it's sort of relevant, but it was mainly for the silliness of it! I'm glad you like it ^^

I couldn't label the names, but I could probably describe the physiology of each tissue... damned Biology degree lol =p I'm glad you like it!

Imagine how heavy this thing's head and hooves would be!
I might have a go at this with some of the creatures I have created, just to check that they would actually work.

Definitely, it's good fun :D Just amalgamate some animals skeletons together and see if it would work. It's also great for improving your anatomy ;)

That's awesome. I too look at fantasy creatures and try to figure out what their insides would look like.

Although they look like horses, My Little Ponies are so deformed, they're not really recognisable. It was so hard trying to fit all those leg bones into such a stumpy leg!

Thank you for the comment :D

It's a 'cute' deformity, like munchkin cats, I guess.

I wonder how the wing bones and muscles for the flying ponies would attach.

I never thought about how unaerodynamic they are, they'd never get off the ground! I guess if I was going to do another I could do flying ponies.

And all cats are cute. Even munchkin ones :D

Well, bumblebees don't look all that aerodynamic either, and they fly pretty well.
